With a solid family background in the U.S. Onion industry, David O. Rapasadi, founder of David O. Rapasadi LLC in Central New York, has spent a good portion of his career involved in agribusiness, focused on brokering financial services for more than three decades and moving into mergers and acquisitions.
OnionBusiness.com caught up with David recently, and we talked to him about his history in onions and the correlation to services offered by his company today.
His career spanned 40 years, and upon moving away from brokering financial services, David investigated opportunities in the M&A marketplace.
Now sharing his acumen with others, David is a facilitator of mergers and acquisitions.
“My business model is to recommend experienced professionals that are nationally recognized as leading transaction advisory and consulting groups” for a number of services, including divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and technology licensing.
Under this model, David works to establish relationships and subsequently refer consultants who specialize in market studies and competitor analyses, market feasibility reports, and product and technology performance market assessments.
Those referrals specialize in business planning, development, and implementation, business modeling and feasibility studies, while also handling technology assessment, access, and commercialization.
As an added benefit, he said, David also refers consultants who provide financial advisory, business valuation, data analysis, financial modeling, deal diligence, and performance assessments.
Bringing the players to the table, he often works with an M&A specific firm that is also focused on food and agribusiness, and that firm has a “team of professionals with real world industry experience nationally, having developed skills that extend beyond those of traditional M&A advisors.”
“The firm I regularly use include professionals in offices across North America, South America, Europe and Australia, and has represented clients in over 30 countries,” he said. “The team has a high level of industry and deal expertise that allows them to facilitate the proper and professional handling of transactions and consulting projects.”
David continued, “Moreover, their network of professional business advisors has experience across a wide range of agribusiness sectors, including onions.”
Noting the potential growth of mergers within the onion industry over the next six months, David said he is confident in recommending custom-tailored services to meet the unique needs of each client, as well as delivering personalized, experience-based, professional guidance to clients throughout the assignment.
“I am proud to act as a relationship-driven transaction advisor and consultant,” he said.
David partners with a firm that has successfully handled mergers and acquisitions exceeding $2.5 billion over the past two decades, and he said given the current economic climate brought about by COVID-19, more such collaborations are not only possible, but quite likely.
“My relationship with this particular M&A firm stands ready to work with companies seeking to combine forces, ultimately leading to mutually successful projects for its clients,” he said. For Information:
