OnionBusiness.com recently spoke with Aaron Fox, company vice president, about this year’s PMA Fresh Summit in Atlanta and Fox Packaging’s exhibit at Booth 4537
“The biggest benefit of exhibiting at PMA is the exposure.” Aaron said. “Fresh Summit offers a great opportunity to connect with different segments of the produce industry, both domestic and international, in one venue.”
He added, “Fox Packaging is very proud of the fact that we are a family owned and managed business, with over 50 years serving the produce industry.”
More than half a century ago, Fox Packaging began operations with “used equipment and borrowed space in the back of a South Texas carrot shed,” providing packaging for local farmers. As the company’s web site, www.foxbag.com, notes, “Today, things look a little different for us. Not only have we become a leader in flexible packaging solutions, but we now service produce customers across North and South America.”
Aaron said, “We have three generations working together now, and while I admit, as with any family business, it has its challenges, they are far outweighed by the benefits.”
The “Fox family generations” extend beyond just bloodline, He said.
“From what started as a small local supplier in South Texas, we’ve grown to supply customers coast to coast and internationally, all from our plant in Texas. We have hundreds of employees who depend on us for their livelihood and the future of their families. It’s not only our family’s generations who have passed through these doors, but our employees’, too. It’s very fulfilling,” he said.
In Atlanta, “Two of our family’s generations will attend the show, including two fathers and sons,” Aaron said. “Our name is on everything we make. Quality and customer service are paramount to what we do.”
He said PMA is one of the key factors in Fox Packaging’s reach, noting, “PMA does a great job of marketing… it’s their middle name!”
