Our good friends at Gills Onions hit the ground running in 2020, with a fresh and lively re-launched of the news/blog area on https://gillsonions.com/news-page.
Vice President of Sales & Marketing Megan Jacobsen told us her primary focus in the relaunch is “to push additional content out on social media, especially on the B2B platform LinkedIn, sharing the good news of onions – and, of course, why someone should buy Gills Onions.” Here’s the link to LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/gillsonions/.
Megan said stories will post Tuesdays and Thursdays on all platforms, and the website’s top stories last week were https://gillsonions.com/get-know-gills-onions on Thursday and https://gillsonions.com/5-benefits-using-whole-peeled-onions on Tuesday. A quick look at Facebook on Monday, Jan. 27, https://www.facebook.com/gillsonions/ had recipes, videos and a look at the history of Gills Onions.
In addition to the newsy updates, Gills will continue to post recipes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on all platforms minus LinkedIn. Super timely for the Super Bowl is this kicky recipe for a spirited beverage, https://gillsonions.com/recipes/probiotic-bloody-mary.
“Blogs aren’t necessary newsworthy or special nowadays,” Megan said. She added that what is special and what OnionBusiness readers might like to know is that many of the stories from Gills will support the onion industry overall.
This week, she told us, there will be a story entitled “Nature’s Ninja: How Onions Are Nature’s Most Powerful Vegetable,” which will reference the National Onion Association’s marketing campaign.
“And the first week of February there will be a story posted about how February is American Heart Health Month,” Megan added. “Content will focus on the health benefits of vegetables, especially onions, and how incorporating into your diet will lead to a healthier heart.”
