L&M Companies is among more than 200 exhibitors featured at https://onlinexperiences.com/scripts/Server.nxp, and the Raleigh, NC-based company’s spotlight is on new Goldies® Onions.
In partnership with Flavorful Brands in California, L&M is rolling out Goldies after 15 years of research to create this amazing onion. These non-GMO onions are field-grown in the United States and New Zealand, resulting in year-round supply.
This is the first year of commercial production in the United States, with Flavorful Brands having exclusive rights to the Goldies seed from their partner, Bejo Seeds, and exclusive marketing rights of the onions throughout the United States and Canada. L&M Companies is an exclusive operating partner to grow, pack, and distribute Goldies on behalf of Flavorful Brands.
Although early in the season, the companies are seeing high demand after first orders were shipped to Portland, where Goldies are in retail test markets. There are also plans for testing in foodservice later in the year. A variety of pack options are available, including the new two-pound consumer bag. And, Flavorful Brands said, organics are expected to be added to the mix next year.
