Paul Skeen with Skeen Farms and President of the Malheur County Oregon Onion Association told us on Sept. 30 that the region is on track for the 2020-21 harvest and onion storage. “We had great weather this summer and good drying conditions for this season’s crop,” Paul said. “Overall, it looks like the region’s yields are average, and we couldn’t be more pleased about the quality – it’s excellent! Harvest is going full steam as most growers shoot to be done by the second week in October.”
Many thanks to Paul and son, Logan as well as Rick and Larry Kitamura for the video of harvest in fields near Ontario Oregon.
