The Western U.S. Agricultural Trade Association and the 13 Western State Departments of Agriculture recently announced participation and registration in the July 18-22 Japan Food Ingredients Inbound Trade Mission, which is facilitated by the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
One-on-one and group business meetings with buyers from Japan will be held in Idaho and Oregon, with additional opportunities available for participants to host tours at their farms and facilities. This is the first WUSATA opportunity in two and a half years to connect with Japanese buyers in person, a crucial part of forming business relationships. American products are seen as reliable to Japanese buyers and attractive to Japanese consumers.
Benefits for the two states participating in the event include meeting buyers from Japan in person without leaving Idaho or Oregon, the chance to gather current market intelligence, consumer preferences, and trend information about a $216 billion food processing industry and practice in selling product and learning about its feasibility and the opportunity to sell product and examine its fit in the specific marketplace. The meetings will take place in the Boise area on July 18 and 19 and in the Portland area on July 21 and 22. Registration is now open, and for more information, log onto https://www.wusata.org/mywusata/signin/.
