OnionBusiness extends its deepest condolences to the family and colleagues of Jim Prevor, who died recently at age 61 from heart failure.
Jim, founder of Produce Business and fourth-generation produce industry veteran, was a formidable presence with his news and analysis and was at the helm of his magazine since launching it in 1985.
He is survived by his wife Debbie, sons William and Matthew, and many industry friends.
Ken Whitacre, executive vice president and publisher, said, “The staff of PRODUCE BUSINESS, our company, Phoenix Media Network, and the global perishable food industry, will feel a tremendous void in his absence. Jim was larger-than-life and, as such, his spirit will forever be with us, and we will honor his legacy by carrying on his passion and mission to ‘initiate industry improvement’.”
