The recent Oregon State University/Malheur Experiment Station Field Day held outside Ontario, OR, gave attendees not only the opportunity to check out new onion varieties but also the chance to applaud the longtime work of two retiring researchers at the facility.
Experiment Station Manager Stuart Reitz provided OnionBusiness with several photos, “including one of Casey Crookham and Paul Skeen discussing the secrets to growing a good onion.” Stuart also sent a great photo of Senior Faculty Research Asst I Erik Feibert at his last field day.
“Bio Science Research Tech 3 Joey Ishida is also retiring in the spring, and so we took the opportunity to recognize both of them at lunch for their incredible careers and service to the station,” Stuart said. Our thanks to the entire staff of the Malheur Experiment Station and best wishes to Erik and Joey.
Many thanks to Kris Crookham with Crookham Company for sending in additional photos from the event. Click image to enlarge and scroll.
