Yerington, NV-based Peri & Sons Farms announced the roll-out of its new Earthbag for fall 2021’s organic onions.
In the company press release, the unique bag is described as “paper/bamboo mesh… biodegradable and compostable.”
Moreover, the release said, “It’s the type of responsible produce packaging that makes consumers happy today and makes the earth a better place tomorrow.”
“All Kinds of Good” translates to all kinds of eco-friendly functionality. The high-graphic bag is a great display item, and the light-weight design “enhances freshness, shelf-life and safety, all while reducing the impact on the planet.”
The bags are available for Peri’s premium Certified USDA Organic white, red, yellow or combo onions custom-packed in 2- and 3-lb sizes. The UPC ensures an accurate organic ring.
The bags also support zero-waste initiatives, encourage recycling by consumers in printed messages on the back, are kid-friendly and link via QR code to recipes on the Peri website. The onions themselves are sustainably farmed.
In its commitment to saying no to the status quo, “Peri & Sons Farms is supporting new emerging packaging technologies that appeal to today’s eco-conscious consumer, because it’s the right thing to do.”
