The 30th Annual Pacific Northwest Vegetable Association’s Conference will be held Nov.16 and 17 at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick, WA. Onions will have their own sessions running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16. The trade show will open at 10 a.m.
The day’s schedule includes workshops on controlling storage problems, thrips, soil moisture, downy mildew, good horticulture practices and more.
Running concurrently with the onion sessions are similar presentations for the “general vegetable” category, looking at weed control, GlobalGAP certification, listeria and more.
Thursday includes a special pest management session running from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and of special note is half-day organic session from 8 a.m. to 12:45. The organic segment includes a panel discussion featuring representatives from Costco, Whole Foods and Charlie’s Produce. Pest control and fertilization will also be addressed.
