This crossed our desk recently and piqued our interest – a weapon from Sweden-based Svensson to combat thrips at the greenhouse level.
The product is Econet, an “insect exclusion screen” with a weave smaller than the 0.169-mm diameter of a sneaky thrip.
Econet, with a weave hole of 0.15 x 0.15 mm, provides blocks thrips “while maintaining airflow for a cooler, less humid climate. With a secure barrier against pests, Econet prevents virus transmission and reduces the need for harmful pesticides. Plus, with multiple hole-size options available, you can target the exact insects you want to exclude while still maintaining maximum airflow.”
Along with the Econet information, Svensson Americas also introduced new North American Sales Manager Matt Bonavita, who joined the SA team in April. Matt is based in Svensson’s Charlotte, NC, office and will manage the sales teams for the Americas. He brings more than a decade of experience in sales and marketing, including international business, and he will be responsible for the North America sales “while collaborating on a global scale to find new markets for our products,” the release said.
