Since making the Coronavirus-driven decision to go digital with its annual fall convention and trade show this year, PMA has been working hard to pull off the first-ever Virtual Fresh Summit, and in mid-September the Association officially announced its schedule for Virtual Fresh Summit’s Oct.13-15 online run, with three separate early bird previews to start Sept. 28. The complete preview and link for registration are at PM Preview Schedule
For more than seven decades, Fresh Summit was an in-person opportunity for the produce industry to network, negotiate and exhibit. By far the largest event for PMA, Fresh Summit represents the majority of income for the organization, and organizers have faced an monumental task in implementing a virtual show to sufficiently reach members and create an experience benefiting not only attendees but also sponsors who have contributed monetarily for an online tradeshow moving in uncharted waters. And by providing previews, PMA expands its value-added aspect of the virtual show.
That first preview, which runs Sept. 28-Oct.1, is the Produce/Floral/Complementary Marketplace Buyer Preview in which
buyers are given access to the platform pre-event in a no-pressure environment to view products within the Marketplace. There will also be exhibitor pitch sessions and opportunities to schedule meetings during the actual event. to take place on the days of the event. All day
From Oct.2–Oct.6 early birds can access Solutions Marketplace Buyer Preview, and from Oct.7-Oct.13 early-bird attendees can access the platform before the event to build a profile, connect with buyers and colleagues, discover products and services within the Marketplace, schedule meetings, and add sessions to their calendar.
