The National Onion Association has plenty of activities planned for its members at this year’s Winter Convention in Maui. Many companies are taking advantage of the tropical setting to connect with customers and their families outside the scheduled functions.
Volm Companies kicked off the convention’s opening day with a special customer appreciation dinner at the prestigious Gannon’s restaurant situated on one of Maui’s most beautiful beaches.
Volm’s Randy Clark, who has been active in building Volm’s onion program, told us that special customer events are important for building close relationships. “Hosting special functions at NOA conventions are very valuable to us,” Randy said. “While expos like PMA are important, we believe that getting to know our customers and their families in a more casual setting allow us to better connect and is a great way to build true friendships.”
Wayne DeCou who has also placed a high priority on onions for Volm, agreed that NOA events present a special time to connect with customers. “It’s a time to focus on families, and getting to know our customers in a non-business setting is is one of the best things we can do,” Wayne said.
