The annual Northern Colorado onion variety field day will be held Friday, Sept. 4, at the Adams County Regional Parks & Fairgrounds in the CSU extension and park office, 9755 Henderson Rd., in Brighton, CO.
Sponsored by American Takii, the meeting will run from 8-10 a.m. in the first floor meeting room, with the agenda to include an onion variety trial update presented by Eric Hammond, an onion mychorrizal study update by Dr. Thaddeus Gourd and other Colorado onion news.
A breakfast will be served, and following the update the program will continue with a self-guided tour of the onion trial locations. Location 1 is Sakata Farms’ sprinkler-irrigated Wattenburg location trial just north of Brighton. Location 2 is Sakata Farm’s flood-irrigated site south of Platteville.
