An inaugural VIP Onion Buyer Tour was hosted by J.C. Watson Packing Co. of Parma, ID, Oct. 1-3, with Mother Nature showing off postcard-perfect weather and the 2015 harvest of beautiful Spanish Sweet onions wrapping up with splendid quality and beautiful sizing.
Participants who came from across the country were given a firsthand look of both Treasure Valley harvest and state-of-the-art packing operations at JCW’s Parma facility.
Also, guests were provided valuable information about onion growing seasons, variety types and other facts to assist them in increasing their onion sales.
The Parma mainstay, which is more than 100 years old, rolled out the red carpet, treating guests to great local cuisine and tours of a hop (think brew!) shed, a winery and an afternoon of Boise State University football.
The Watson sales team said the tour was an excellent opportunity to showcase care and dedication JCW has for growing and shipping a top quality product, and it demonstrates the company’s sincere commitment to assist customers in expanding sales and profitability.
Sales Manager Kent Sutherland commented, “We enjoyed having our V.I.P. guests join us for a very informative tour to share with them what sets J.C. Watson Packing Company a head of our competitors.”
