When we launched OnionBusiness.com in June 2015, we knew we were on to something big. Heretofore, the onion industry was sorely lacking in up-to-date, accurate reporting, and with our background in onions, we were confidant we could fill that gap.
Our first online posting was June 11, and we gratefully featured a profile story on the legendary Bob Sakata. Bob shared fascinating insights, and this week we’re revisiting the onion icon for an update on how he’s doing and what his thoughts are about the industry.
We’ve expanded our coverage over the last 12 months, now including all aspects of the industry — literally from seed to table. We’re profiling growers, shippers, brokers, equipment companies, seed companies – if it’s about onions, OnionBusines.com is looking into it.
Our weekly newsletters have caught on in a big way, thanks to you, our readers. In fact, we’ve increased our subscriber base by 700 percent in one year! Our readers include grower/shippers, suppliers, buyers/receivers and allied industry members.
In addition, we are 40 percent above the national average for open rates and 32 percent above the national average for click-through rates.
Importantly, we are part of the National Onion Association, and we work with that great team in getting the news out. If it’s bad news, we report it. If it’s good news, we celebrate it AND report it.
As always, we value your input and welcome your comments. Please don’t hesitate to contact us by calling Sherise Jones at 208-741-2381, or via email: sherise@onionbusiness.com. We offer great advertising opportunities at extremely competitive rates.
