The 2017 Pacific Northwest Vegetable Association Conference held Nov. 15-16 in Kennewick is the largest ever, according to Executive Secretary Sheri Nolan.
OnionBusiness.com attended the Nov. 15 “onion day” of the conference, which featured a presentation by Kim Redden, director of public and industry relations for the National Onion Association. Kim looked at “What’s Now and What’s Next for Onion Producers and Marketers.” Also on the day’s agenda were discussions by Dr. Bill Cobb of Cobb Consulting; management analyst Jill Wisehart; Dr. Ian Burke of WSU; Dr. Stuart Reitz of OSU; Dr. Gina Greenway of College of Idaho; Chad Kruger of WSU; Dr. Lindsey du Toit; Drs. Carrie Wohleb and Tim Waters of WSU; Dr. Andre S. Biscaro; and the Columbia Basin Onion Research Committee. There was also a terrific trade show.
This week we’re bringing you a photo gallery of some of the faces we saw; look for a full PNVA wrap-up the week after Thanksgiving.
