Ultratech Mesh products from Volm Companies will be part of the company’s Booth 3435 exhibit at this year’s PMA Fresh Summit in Atlanta Oct. 23-25.
The exhibit includes the Half-N-Half Pouch and Vertical Form, Fill and Seal Bags using eco-friendly Ultratech Mesh.
The Half-N-Half, newest new kid on the packaging block, is a “… one-of-a-kind, eye-catching, high graphic pouch” that is meant to make your onion brand stand out. “With the breathability offered by Ultratech mesh, this pouch is perfect” for onions as well as spuds, citrus, apples, avocados and other produce items.
The Vertical Form, Fill and Seal (VFFS) bags can be made with paper, laminated label, lightblocker film and Ultratech mesh. “They can be designed for optimal shelf presence in vertical stand-up form or for horizontal placement in a pillow pack form.”
This new line is part of a lengthy tradition of packaging convenience started by the Volm family 61 years ago in Bryant, WI. At that time the Volms sold “groceries and hardware supplies, serving the needs of local dairy and potato farmers.” Gerald Volm realized “that local customers needed a reliable supplier of used and new burlap to get their potatoes to market. Over time, the company formed distributor relationships with other bag companies and moved its growing business to Antigo, WI, where it began manufacturing its own products to meet changing market needs.”
Over the years Volm has expanded with manufacturing and distribution locations across the nation, and it now partners with produce companies that include Dole, Sunkist and Green Giant, meeting their packaging specifications.
