With construction ongoing at the new Volm distribution center in Pasco, WA, the company is anticipating the 90,000 square foot facility will be finished yet this spring.
Ground was broken on Aug. 10, 2016, and at that time Volm President and CEO Daniel Mueller said, “Our goal is to strive to be the Most Valued Partner to our customers, and this new facility will help us more efficiently meet their daily service needs from a centralized location, as well as more completely meet our customers’ increasing standards for food safety. At this new facility, we will continue to have manufacturing for our Leno onion bags and will have a more usable equipment staging and spare parts area as well as increased office space. The business served from our Pasco location has grown, bringing value to our family of companies. I’m very excited to be able to have a facility that we can all be proud of.”
Antigo, WI-based Volm provides packaging and equipment solutions to the fresh produce industry, and prior to construction of the new Tri-Cities center, the main facility, two miles from the new site, had become “too small, forcing us to house our inventory in other facilities and use modular buildings onsite to accommodate our current staff,” Mueller said. The company has been in business for more than six decades, and it works to stay on top of “the trends and needs of the grower and fresh produce packer such as traceability, automation, productivity and sustainability.”
The single-source supplier offers complete packaging, equipment and facility design consulting services that range from package design and graphic development to full line equipment integration.
