What promises to be a lively auction of awesome goods and services will take place after the NOA Convention’s Friday night dinner in Bakersfield.
The July 20 event will start at approximately 8:15 p.m., continuing until all the items are sold. Professional auctioneer Austin Booker, third generation of Booker Auction Co., will do the honors at the podium.
Among the items up for auction are a Mavic Air Fly More Combo drone from Minkus Family Farms, an original Duck Unlimited Stamp Print original painting form Sev-Rend, a handmade quilt dubbed “The Amazing Onion” from Ardith Mininger, an iPad from Volm Cos., assorted caps and other onion paraphernalia from the NOA, Bose QuietComfort 25 Acoustic Noise-canceling Headphones for Apple from American Takii, a full-page ad from The Produce News, a $500 Gift Card for Southwest Airlines from Garner Lanfeld Packaging and Agribag, Inc., a FitBit Versa smartwatch from Nunhems, multiple pieces of Colorado artwork from Bank of Colorado, a $250 Gift Card to Scheels All Sports Superstore from J9 Crop Insurance, a “stuffed” Yeti Roadie cooler and assortment of shirts and many other road trip goodies from Bejo Seed Co., golf for four in Maui at the Wailea Golf Club before the annual convention in December from Eqraft and a half-page ad in Onion World.
OnionBusiness has donated “Onions of 2018” mixed media from winner’s farm, operation or other scene that will be digitally enhanced and printed on a 30”x40” canvas along with selected fun gifts to remember California, such as a collector’s pottery piece and gifts to prepare for Hawaii such as a sterling puanani hibiscus, and gifts for the winner’s banquet table.
Curry & Co. has donated an iPad, and an original oil has come in from artist Lindsey Weimer, sister of Corey Kincaid at Kincaid Yellow Onions in Wisconsin.
Van Doren Sales and Walla Walla Sweet Onion Marketing Committee both donated very cool Man Crates, and Jet-Ag Storage Chemical Application donated a certificate for a post-harvest thermal fogging application.
A Santa Fe Stoneworks knife was donated by The Onion House, and a voucher for discounted freight service was donated by Our Favorite Freight Broker. Gowan Seed donated a Yeti Roadie. Central Valley Supply added a really fun item, Cornhole Boards!
